Zendaya Was Her Own Oscars Makeup Artist: "Every Now and Then I Do My Own Beat"
Zendaya took a low-maintenance approach to this year’s Oscars. Despite donning loads of Bulgari diamonds and custom-made Valentino separates, the “Euphoria” star later revealed that she forwent her usual makeup artist and did her makeup for the award show herself. Complementing her silver sequin skirt, Zendaya‘s makeup consisted of a silver smoky eye, brushed-up brows, glowing bronzer, and neutral lip gloss. “Every now and then I do my own beat,” Zendaya wrote on Instagram Stories.
Zendaya achieved the look using products by Lancôme, having been a global ambassador for the brand since 2019. For the rest of her beauty look, Zendaya turned to the professionals: her chrome nails were done by Lisa Kon, and she got a preshow facial from Joomee Song. Hairstylist Antoinette Hill created Zendaya’s tousled updo using clip-ins, and she was also behind the actor’s soft brown hair color.
When Zendaya appeared at the Vanity Fair afterparty wearing an hourglass power suit later in the evening, she added darker metallics to her eye makeup and elongated the shadow at the outer and inner corners. She wrote, “And then I switched up the eye.”
