Zendaya's Oscars Manicure Is a Lesson in Monochromatic Beauty

Zendaya has graced the 2022 Oscars red carpet, proving once again why she and stylist Law Roach are a match made in heaven. The “Euphoria” actor had all eyes on her as she seemingly floated down the carpet in a two-piece number with the train on her shimmering silver skirt fluttering perfectly behind her. But while her fashions were nothing to scoff at, her chrome nails were the small detail that we couldn’t help but notice.
Zendaya kept her nails short and decked her manicure out using a silver nail chrome polish that perfectly matched the finish of her skirt and silver cuff bracelets. The look makes her the latest celebrity to match her nails with her jewelry. Previously, Selena Gomez got an emerald green manicure to match her ring for the SAG awards, Blake Lively’s pink and beige mini-moon manicure complemented her Lorraine Schwartz bracelet (and multicolored Versace dress), and Jodie Turner-Smith’s diamond and emerald nail gems looked like they could have been taken right from the tiara on her head.
Though we’ve seen the resurgence of maximalist nail trends like the “Kawaii” nail art recently seen on Megan Thee Stallion, or the deep french tips that Cynthia Erivo recently wore to the SAG awards, Zendaya‘s manicure reminds us that we can still make a statement with simple, single color nail looks.
