Get Rid of Dark Spots with this Home Made Remedy
If you have dark spots on your skin that seem to stick around despite your best efforts, there may be a reason why you can’t get rid of them. Dark spots are caused by hyperpigmentation, which means the skin produced too much melanin in one area of the body. Melanin causes discoloration in the areas where it accumulates, and when this happens, it’s called hyperpigmentation or dark spots as they appear darker than surrounding skin. There are home remedies that can help with this problem.
1) Lemon Juice
Lemon juice is a natural bleaching agent and can help to lighten dark spots on your skin. It’s also full of antioxidants that can help to improve your skin’s overall health and give you a natural glow. To use lemon juice as a dark spot treatment, simply clean the affected area and apply fresh lemon juice directly to the skin. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing off with warm water. Repeat this process once or twice daily until you see results.
For a more powerful treatment, use lemon juice in combination with other ingredients. For example, mix 2 teaspoons of lemon juice, 1 teaspoon each of cinnamon powder and turmeric powder and 1⁄2 teaspoon each of gram flour and sandalwood powder together to make a paste. Apply it to your face for 10-15 minutes and then rinse off. Repeat once or twice daily for best results.
2) Tomato Juice
Have you ever looked in the mirror and noticed dark spots on your face? These can be from dirt, makeup, or even pollution in the air. But don’t worry, there’s a natural remedy that can help clean your skin and give you a glow.
All you need is one part tomato juice to two parts lemon juice. The acidity from both these juices will not only make your skin clean, but it will also reduce your pores and even out your skin tone. You can make a full face mask or simply apply to individual spots as needed. You can do both, for maximum effect! 3) Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is a natural beauty remedy that has been used for centuries to heal and soothe skin. The plant contains a gel-like substance that can be applied directly to the skin. Aloe Vera can help lighten dark spots by exfoliating the top layer of dirt and dead skin cells.
To make your own aloe vera, cut off the top leaf from an aloe vera plant and use a knife or spoon to remove its goo inside. If you want it thicker, just add more water; if you want it thinner, add more aloe vera gel. You can also buy store bought aloe vera gel at most drug stores as well. Apply on the spot three times daily until desired results are achieved.
4) Cucumber
Cucumber is great for lightening dark spots. It has a high content of water which helps to keep the skin hydrated. The ascorbic acid present in cucumber acts as a natural bleaching agent. To use cucumber for lightening dark spots, grate one cucumber and squeeze out its juice. Apply the juice on the dark spots and let it dry. Wash it off with cold water after 15 minutes. Do this daily for best results.
You can also eat cucumber to get rid of dark spots. The green peel and outer layer contain silica which helps in reducing skin discoloration and pigmentation. Grate a cucumber into a blender and make a juice out of it. Add one teaspoon lemon juice, half teaspoon tea tree oil or lavender oil to it. Apply it over your face by massaging gently. Do not rinse off after 15 minutes. Wash your face after 30 minutes with cool water. This remedy helps you get rid of dark spots within 1 week if used daily
5) Potato Section
Potatoes have been shown to be effective in lightening dark spots on the skin. They contain an enzyme called catecholase, which is known to brighten skin. To use this remedy, simply grate a potato and apply the juice to your dark spots. Leave it on for 10-15 minutes before rinsing it off with water. Repeat this process daily for best results.
If you don’t like potato juice, there are other natural ways to use potatoes for skin lightening. You can also add some raw slices to your regular face mask or take them orally in powder form. Try mixing a teaspoon of ground potato with honey and milk to make a paste. Leave it on your face for 15 minutes before rinsing it off, and then apply an egg white mask. The next morning, wash your face and apply some aloe vera gel mixed with lemon juice to improve your skin’s texture. These remedies should be done once every week until you see results, which could take anywhere from two weeks to several months depending on how dark your spots are. Some people report noticeable results after just four days.
6) Ginger Section
Ginger is a popular home remedy for dark spots. It is said to help lighten the skin and improve circulation. To use ginger for dark spots, mix fresh ginger juice with an equal amount of lemon juice. Apply the mixture to your dark spots and let it sit for 30 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water. You can do this once or twice a day for best results.
If you don’t have fresh ginger at home, but you do have it in powder form, add a teaspoon to your tea. This will release ginger’s natural skin lightening properties. You can also make a paste by mixing ground ginger and lemon juice together and then apply it to your dark spots. Leave it on for 15 minutes before rinsing it off. It is important to remember that any time you are putting new ingredients on your skin, especially homemade ones, test them out on a small patch of skin first to see if there are any allergic reactions. This can reduce chances of damage or discomfort when applied larger areas later.
7) Honey
Mixing honey and lemon juice is a popular home remedy for dark spots. The acids in lemon juice may help to lighten the skin, while honey is a natural moisturizer. To make this remedy, mix equal parts honey and lemon juice. Apply the mixture to your dark spots and let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse it off with warm water and repeat the process 2-3 times per week.
Another method is to combine a small amount of honey with lime juice. Like lemon juice, lime juice contains citric acid which may help to lighten skin. Combine equal parts honey and lime juice and apply it to your dark spots 2-3 times per week. Leave it on for 20 minutes and rinse it off. Another variation is to mix honey, sugar and cream together to make a paste you can apply directly to your dark spots. Rub it in until all traces are gone, leave on for 10 minutes then rinse off. This will exfoliate your skin as well as lightening your dark spots.
